avant-pop electronic duo weaving a hazy cloud of analog sound & melodic vocals with kraut inspired rhythms.
A friend of mine asked if anyone ever asks me what the songs are all about.. so here is some bloggy type info on the latest title track.
I wrote the song “Serpents as Doves, as I do many songs… on some form of transportation. I saw this preacher type guy on my bus, dressed a little like that guy from Poltergeist 3. (Google him if you are too young to remember.) He was sitting in front of me reading what seemed like an interpretation of the bible. No joke. If you don’t ride Septa enough, you may not believe it. Fantastical things like that happen all the time on the bus or trolley.
I naturally had to peer over to see what he was reading, I saw the words “Serpents” and also “Doves”. I couldn’t really make out what it said entirely, but I loved the visual idea of those two animals.
After I wrote it down, I researched the bible passage; ““Behold, I am sending you out as sheep in the midst of wolves, so be wise as serpents and innocent as doves.”
I don’t know the bible all the well, so I thought it was pretty crazy there were wolves in there too. Now I was reading some Native American quotations today.. and this came up
“If a man is as wise as a serpent he can afford to be harmless as a dove.” - Cheyenne
I am sure there is a lot of cross pollination with all religious scripts, and I love that I came across that today.

We recorded a new 4 song EP and we just had it mixed at the legendary Miner Street Studio by Brian McTear. We’re hoping to release it next month on earSnake.
We’re pumped to play the good old North Star with this stellar band from Texas, The Octopus Project. Details here on FB Invite.
Check out this video we did for Bands in the Back Yard’s Second Season kick off!
We played two new songs in the melting summer sun. The first song is ‘Crystal Train’ or ‘Crystal Tree’ if you ask Kyle; we haven’t decided yet ;-) The second song is ‘Dangerous Tides’. BITBY added some melty visual goodness to that one. We had a great time with the BITBY people, BITBY dogs, and BITBY avocados.
These songs will be released on earSnake this fall.

I’m super pleased to announce the December installment of Still Life, a bimonthly showcase of experimental Philadelphia music. This month’s show is Friday, December 9, at the First Unitarian Chapel.
On the bill is Tadoma, the musical alter ego of Data Garden Records’ Joe Patitucci,…
We have been so busy working on their opera Pangaea. We’re finally getting back to doing some Gemini Wolf shows including an upcoming performance at the First Unitarian Chapel in Philadelphia. This beautiful space has a nice warm natural reverb and quiet music sounds amazing in there. We’re excited to try something new for this show. The series is called still life and will also feature sets by Tadoma and Gina Ferrera.
Friday December 9. Starts at 7pm. $8. 2125 Chestnut Street. Philadelphia, PA

One of the most thought-provoking records to come out of Philadelphia’s electronic music scene in recent years, Gemini Wolf‘s Infinite Sand Dunes ponders a scorched-earth future through eerie sonic textures, urgent vocal elements and a wholly instrumental side B where all traces of humanity have vanished. It’s like the soundtrack to a vast ocean, or a sprawling desert. Today’s Philly Local Phile hones in on “Doppelganger Walk,” the last of the album’s vocal cuts and the point where the march of mankind has plowed forth and the dunes are all that’s left. Sound too chilling to listen to alone? Take it in with friends and fellow concerned citizens when Gemini Wolf plays Kungfu Necktie this Friday night, Aug. 19.Gemini Wolf performs with Canon Blue and Oh! Pears at Kung Fu Necktie. Tickets to the 21+ show are $8.
We got some love for Infinite Sand Dunes in the vinyl record blog, OMG Vinyl. Check it out and if you haven’t already, buy the record! We did a limited pressing and they’re going fast!
the a-side is full of heavy percussion, synthesizers, and dark, sultry vocals, the b-side is mostly made up of cavernous drones, slowed-down beats, and passionate experimentalism. Rad stuff
